A talk by MadC and Luisa Heese.
The HENI Art Club are thrilled to invite members to a talk, exhibition preview and book launch with internationally renowned graffiti artist and muralist, MadC. Join us at HENI Gallery to gain a unique insight into MadC’s prolific career and to view the exhibition before it opens to the public on 18th November. Luisa Heese, the author of HENI’s recent publication MadC: Street to Canvas, will interview MadC and provide her own insights into the artist’s work and life. All guests will have the opportunity to ask their own questions and drinks will be provided.
Street to Canvas is the title of the 240-page monograph, which includes texts by Luisa Heese and over 150 images that richly document the full breadth of MadC’s public outdoor works and paintings on canvas.
The exhibition, also titled Street to Canvas, will include twenty paintings on canvas made over the last year. The largest work in the show measures 4.5 meters wide, an explosive and immersive work that bridges the public and private aspects of MadC’s practice.

MadC (born Claudia Walde, 1980) is a German graffiti artist and painter, based in Halle and known internationally for her vibrant and arresting public works on a monumental scale. MadC studied design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle and later pursued a post graduate degree at Central St. Martins in London. While exploring the full potential of graffiti art MadC has had the opportunity to create murals across Europe and around the world in such diverse locations as New York, South Africa, Bolivia, Abu Dhabi. After building a successful career of bringing art to the streets MadC began exploring the reverse and expanded her practice onto canvas.
